The Boxcar Children. Once children transition from Little Golden Books (if we EVER do!) to chapter books, great storytellers like E.B. White and Gertrude Chandler Warner write stories that capture the imagination and transport you and your children (or grandchildren) to new world and exciting new adventures. In fact, it was The Boxcar Children that hooked me on reading for good. It’s one of my grandson’s favorite bedtime story. He has listened it to it as a sleep story audio book so many times, he can recite whole chapters for memory!
