Every story lets you and your children and/or grandchildren try to find the clues and solve the mystery. I will post the previous week’s crime solution at the beginning of next week’s new Sunday Night Mystery with Encyclopedia Brown. This detective mystery series of books originated in the mid-1960s. The 12 year old super sleuth always figures out the case. The fun — particularly at that age — was trying to figure out how he solved them.

It was one of those books I always ordered from the Scholastic Books Service when they were released back when I was in grade school. I learned to love reading, in part, because of these captivating stories.

This first chapter — The Case of the Natty Nat — is actually the introduction to Encyclopedia Brown. It tells the story of how he decided to open his own detective agency at age 12.
